In these 5 days students will work with a true Mosaic Maestra and will learn strategies and methods of portraiture in one of two traditional styles, byzantine or renaissance. The portrait class will be done in indirect method. Portrait methodology and tips taught in this class can be applied to any other portraits, modern or traditional.
Students will learn differences between the byzantine and renaissance styles, including historical notes about how the styles evolved and rules for those styles.
Everyone will see a suggested order of steps to build up a convincing portrait using light and shadow. Suggested andamento, color/value selection, and other tips will be shared.
